People living along the Dog River area in Mobile listened to good news about a hazardous chemical site in their neighborhood.
Since January, the Environmental Protection Agency has been working at the old AMPS Bumper plant on Navco Road.
The company used chromium to plate car and truck bumpers.
Old barrels filled with chemicals have been hauled off and so has contaminated dirt.
The EPA held a meeting Monday night to update neighbors on the process.
Crews say the job will take six more months. Donna Brown with the River Park Community Action Group says they are pleased with the EPA's progress and quick action.
