Yvonne Ellis is settling in for the night at a Red Cross shelter in Pensacola. The New Orleans native left Louisiana Sunday and probably won't be able to go home for several days.
"It's frustrating and scary," says Ellis. "I don't know what's going to happen. I might not have a house when I get back."
Ellis evacuated when Hurricane Katrina hit three years ago. She lost her home in the storm.
"I've had to start from scratch before," says Ellis. "I don't want to do it again."
More than 200 people are staying at the Red Cross shelter in Pensacola. But the shelter is having problems of its own: financial problems.
"We need financial donations," says George Douglas with the American Red Cross. "It takes a lot of money to house these people and to provide services and to feed them."
If you'd like to make a financial donation, call the Red Cross at 1-800-773-7620.
