MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Thursday is the final day to request an
absentee ballot in Alabama.
Election officials across Alabama have been reporting record
requests for absentee ballots.
That comes after record voter registration. Secretary of State
Beth Chapman says election officials are still processing the
registrations that came in by Friday's deadline. The voter rolls
now stand at 3,007,205. That's an increase of more than 280,000 in
one year.
Chapman says election officials are preparing for what will
likely be the largest election ever held in Alabama.
