You’ve heard of daycare for your kids. What about your pet?

Beverly Israel is enjoying a final few minutes with her excitable pooch Reese. The dog's excited for another day at Walks and Wags doggie daycare.

“We live in apartment so we don't have a back yard and this is a great place for her to play dog,” says Israel. Cindie Carter turned her big back yard into a canine playground three years ago.

“Your dog is part of your family so their dog needs to have a social life too,” says Cater, the owner of Walks and Wags. The workers here spend the day playing with the dogs and making sure they're worn out.

“This is a place where your dog can have a great time while you're working and you both come home tired and relaxed and enjoy the evening together,” says Carter. It might not be a fair comparison but there are a lot of similarities between dog daycare and daycare for kids, starting with rules.

“We have boundaries just like you would with a child they have boundaries they have nap time, snack time have treat time,” says Carter. She says they handle about 20 dogs a day. Some are initially scared of other dogs and need to be taught how to play nice with others. For more information, you can click on the link on this page.
