You can see the excitement on the faces of fans. Sometimes it's even on the side of their heads. Three young men have Alabama “A’s” shaved into the sides of their heads. To say Jaylen Harris is an Alabama fan is an understatement.
“They win all the games this year because they're #1, I loved Alabama when I was first born in 1999,” says the 9-year-old with a hyper-excitement. While Auburn and Alabama fans can break bread at the same table, the rivalry can pit husband against wife. Georgia and Charles Prosser got married on Iron Bowl day five years ago.
“He's a trucker and was out of town so,” says Georgia. “I said let's do it in the morning because the game's not till 2:30, so we got married at about 10 o’clock and went and watched the ballgame.” A good coach has X's and O's and at a restaurant it's no different, they have a floor plan so everyone knows where to go on Iron Bowl day.
“For the first couple of hours it's tough but after that people come in, they pretty much sit for the longest time so not really too much turnover on a day like today,” says manager Brad Depriest. It's a long day at Baumhower’s Restaurant as some employees have to pull double shifts during the 73rd Iron Bowl.
