They came early and ready, all looking for the same thing. "A good deal," says Connie England who drove from Mississippi to be there when the doors opened at the Bass Pro Shop in Spanish Fort.
A bunch of die hard Black Friday shoppers camped out in front of the store hoping to be first in line.
Any question if shoppers would show up were answered with a turn of a key. A great relief for Bass Pro's Gordon Andrews. "This is kind of like our coming out party in this market. Our other 52 stores are experiencing the same success ratio. We're very happy about that and hope it continues through the season."
In the first ten minutes, 750 shoppers came through the door and for many, like Miranda Williams, this wasn't their first stop. "We have been here since three o'clock this morning. We went to Foley to the outlets. We got over there about ten last night, shopped and when we got done, we came straight here."
Rick Long from Orange Beach was another one making multiple stops. "I had my boy at Tanger at midnight last night"
Heads down and determined, shoppers stuffed their baskets much like their turkey the day before. A thankful sight for retailers everywhere.
