Mark and Connie Krist have a special Thanksgiving tradition.
For the past eight years, they've put on aprons and hats and volunteered at the Salvation Army.
This year, they're sharing the tradition with their daughter, two foreign exchange students and one of Connie's former students.
"We've been fortunate as a family to have been lucky in life and have everything we needed," says Mark. "It's all about giving back, and that's what we try to instill in our children."
Lora Michiels is an exchange student from Germany, and Verena Schopes is from Belgium. Both girls are volunteering at the Salvation Army for the first time.
"I've never done anything like this before," says Schopes. "I think it's a great idea to do this and help," she says.
The Krist family and many of the 100 volunteers serving Thanksgiving dinner insist the blessing they've received by helping others is much more than anything they could give... Proof that the holiday spirit is alive and well.
