LAUREL, Miss. (AP) - Police say a Laurel school teacher was
stabbed to death because two suspects wanted to steal her
flat-screen television.
The details in the case against 17-year-old Kenya Davis and
23-year-old Rickey Gavin emerged Wednesday during their first
appearance in Laurel Municipal Court. They're accused in the Sunday
murder of 29-year-old Rebecca Pruitt, an elementary school teacher.
Judge Cecelia Arnold denied bond for Davis and Gavin, both of
Laurel. They're charged with capital murder, robbery and arson.
Police say Pruitt's home was set on fire to hide the murder.
