The countdown has begun, let the shopping begin. At least that's what retailers are hoping for this holiday season.
"We want you to come," says Tanger Outlet manager, Jackie Sewell.
Prices are slashed, sales are everywhere and many retailers could be in for a pleasant surprise. "My wife is in the store right now helping herself," says Olin Vincent from Montgomery.
Nationally 128 million shoppers are expected to hit the stores on Black Friday. That's down from last year but so are gas prices and that's expected to make the difference.
"We're reaching out and doing what we need to do in hopes people will come and people will buy," says Sewell.
But how much will they spend compared to last year?
"I'm going to spend the same amount, " says Sharon Eber from Houma, Louisiana.
Frances Reed from Paris, Texas, is a little more cautious. "Probably a little less than we did last year just to kind of keep a lid on things and be a little more careful. Do a little less impulse buying and planning a little better."
"I'm going to spend about the same just because I tend to shop early," says Caroline Felix from Huntsville. That's good news for retailers who are counting on deals too good, to pass up.
