Two shootings involving the Bay Haas Building in less than 3 years. Two probation officers tried to arrest Christopher Foehl at the building Monday for a probation violation. The building houses the State Parole and Probation Office. But, there was a chase, then a shootout behind a home. Foehl was killed, an officer shot. In April 2006, a man was shot in the building's parking lot. Neighbors want something done. City Council Member, William Carroll, who represents the district, says he's addressing the issue, "I have written a letter to the new commissioner for the area and told her of the neighbors concerns and of mine being that both our districts encompass the same people," said Carroll. Foehl was not only on probation for a burglary conviction. He was also out on bond for rape and sodomy charges.
