CLIFTON, N.J. (AP) - Police in New Jersey are searching for the
estranged husband of a woman who was shot to death during Sunday
church services.
Authorities say the gunman entered the church in Clifton and
shot three people in the vestibule, including the wife, before
fleeing.
Police are searching for 27-year-old Joseph Pallipurath.
They say the victim, 24-year-old Reshma James, had recently
moved from California to escape an abusive marriage and had filed a
restraining order against her husband.
About 200 people were attending services in the sanctuary of the
church, whose members are mostly first-generation Indian immigrants
and their children.
All three victims were shot in the head. The other two victims
are reported in critical condition.
