- Police say the murder suspect, Jamie Letson, was also a student at South Alabama.
- "There is no closure for a family just because the person who did harm to your family is charged." said Attorney General Troy King. "They still don't have a daughter. This Thanksgiving there will be an empty chair at their table again This Christmas there will be empty seats again."

The Mobile County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in the 1980 murder of a South Alabama student.

Katherine Foster was found dead February 21st, 1980 in a wooded area on campus. She had been shot in the back of the head.

Deputies arrested a woman, Jamie Letson, in Jackson, Mississippi for the murder.
