PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) - A Gulf Coast doctor has been convicted on
federal charges of conspiring to illegally prescribe pain killers
and money laundering.
Prosecutors said Wednesday that Dr. Gerardo A. Klug, 65, faces a
maximum of 40 years in prison and $1.25 million in fines.
Sentencing is set for Feb. 13 by U.S. District Judge Casey Rodgers.
A Pensacola jury found Klug guilty of dispensing controlled
substances including Oxycontin, Lortab and Methadone to patients
who didn't need the drugs for pain control.
