Road rage is to blame for a highway shooting, and the shooter is still on the loose. As we first reported Monday night on News 5 at 10, it happened on I-10 West near the McDonald Road exit. The Mobile County Sheriff's Office says the driver of either a gray or silver BMW pulled up next to a red truck and fired shots. A passenger in the truck, who authorities have identified as 29-year-old Michael Vinson of Gulfport, was hit in the knee, while the shooter drove off and headed North on McDonald Road. What should you do, if faced with a case of road rage? We took that question to Alabama State Troopers, "well, the most important thing is don't antagonize the situation. Don't make eye contact, definitely don't change hand gestures or cursing each other or whatever, this just provokes them. If possible get off the road at a busy intersection, at a busy establishment, where there are a lot of people," said Lt. Lee Peacock. The sheriff's office says the shooter in Monday night's road rage case, is described as a white man, with brown hair and a receding hair line, about 6 feet tall, with a heavy build and a round face. He had an Alabama tag inside a collegiate holder.
