Parish Murder Investigation Continues

New details involving the murder of Brianna Parish were released at a police press conference in Daphne Monday, but there are still a lot of unanswered questions surrounding the young woman's death. At the news conference, detectives released the name of a "person of interest" in the case. Investigators say Troy MacDonald was the last person to see or talk to Brianna before she went missing.

"We think there's a possibility that drugs were involved in her abduction," says Lt. Jud Beedy with the Daphne Police Dept. "That's as far as we want to go on that issue, but if anybody knows anything about the connection, please contact us."

Beedy also told reporters Brianna had been arrested on drug charges before.

Parish went missing from the Bay House Pub in Daphne last Tuesday. On Friday, Brianna's family found her partially unclothed body near a sewage treatment facility on Main Street. MacDonald has been questioned and interviewed by detective several times since the 21-year old woman's body was found. MacDonald, however, has "not" been named a suspect in Brianna's murder.

"Until we put somebody in jail, we're open to anything," says Beedy. "It could be anybody, anywhere, so we're going to continue on until we find out who did it."

Daphne's Police Chief assured the community his department is doing everything they can to arrest and eventually convict the person involved in Brianna's death.
