A high speed police chase ends with the death of a 17-year-old boy and sends three other teens to the hospital. It all started on Gunn Road when police got a complaint about an assault. Police say the suspect was in a mustang and when they spotted the car at Schillinger and Cottage Hill Road they tried to get the driver to stop. Instead, Police say he led them on a chase. But, police say officers lost sight of the car and found it here at Cody and Grelot Road after the driver lost control and crashed. All four teens were ejected, killing one of them. We asked whether the chase is worth the risk, "I think what we have to look at here is, you know, the actions of people. You know, when the police turned their lights and sirens on, I mean, that person had a choice, he made a choice whether or not he was going to stop," said Mobile Police Spokesman, Sgt. John Goodwin. Police say they have launched a thorough investigation into exactly what happened Tuesday night. Authorities are not releasing the name of the 17-year-old killed or a 15-year-old who was sent to the hospital. But Police say 18-year-old Richard Hamilton and 19-year-old Jacob Cartee were also involved in the crash. Police say the mustang the teens were in was reported stolen.
