MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The White House has confirmed that First
Lady Laura Bush will give the commencement address at graduation
ceremonies at Enterprise High School on Thursday.
Eight students were killed on March 1, 2007 when a tornado
destroyed the high school and an elementary school next door. The
students were crouched in a hallway that collapsed during the
storm.
A message from President Bush was read at last year's Enterprise
graduation ceremony and at a memorial service earlier this year on
the one-year anniversary of the storm.
The high school has been holding classes at a nearby community
college since the tornado. A new high school is being built in
Enterprise.
