Police Release ID Of Drowning Victim

Witnesses say 60-year-old Leonard Ronan, Jr. was fishing in Little Lagoon Tuesday night when he slipped and was swept away by strong currents.

Gulf Shores police have released the name of the 60-year-old man who drowned in Little Lagoon.

Police say Leonard Ronan, Jr was fishing Tuesday night. Witnesses told police that Ronan slipped around 7:30 p.m. and was swept away by strong currents.

After a two hour search, Ronan's body was found about three blocks east of Callaway Pass.

Police and the Baldwin County Coroner's Office is investigating the drowning.
