JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Cellular South and BancorpSouth have
announced they have partnered to allow customers to bank by phone.
Cellular South customers who bank with BancorpSouth will now be
able to check their accounts, pay bills and transfer money with
their phones.
Aubrey Patterson, chairman and chief executive officer of
BancorpSouth, said at a news conference Monday that he expects
mobile banking to grow 10 fold within the next three years.
Executives from both companies made wireless transfers of $5,000
each to the Mississippi Council on Economic Education, a
not-for-profit organization that equips kindergarten-through-12th
grade teachers to train students in economics and finances.
