COLUMBUS, Ga. (AP) - Columbus police have ruled the shooting
deaths of a father and his three small children a murder-suicide.
The bodies of 28-year-old Eddie Harrington, his twin
23-month-old girls, Aliyah and Agana Battle, and his 3-year-old
son, Cedric Harrington, were found shortly after noon Wednesday in
a wooded area several miles from the family's home. They had been
missing since at least March 6th, when authorities in Tennessee
issued a child abduction alert after Harrington may have been
spotted there.
The mother of the slain children, 25-year-old Agena Battle, told
authorities Harrington withdrew $200 from their bank account March
4th to buy a handgun and left with the children that night.
Battle said Harrington had left a suicide note on a dresser at
the couple's Columbus home. Police say Harrington's father, Jerome,
received a goodbye letter from his son at his Indianapolis home
March 7th postmarked two days prior.
A memorial service for the four victims is planned for Saturday
at 2 p.m. at Faith Tabernacle Church in Columbus. The bodies will
be buried in Indianapolis, Agena Battle said.
