The Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office arrested two men for kidnapping a pair of teenagers during a bogus drug deal.
A 17-year-old male told deputies that he and a friend, 18-year-old Zachary Edmundson, told two men they would sell them marijuana. But they never really had any drugs. Instead, when they got to the house on Carroll Road in Milton, the two teens planned to rob the men.
But the plan back fired. When Edmundson and the 17-year-old showed up without any dope, police say William Faircloth and Jerome Simmons pulled out a pair of rifles and forced the teenagers to duct tape their mouths and then into a car.
The 17-year-old told Faircloth and Simmons that he could get $12,000 from a relative. So they drove to the teenager's house. When his mom walked out, the teen told her that Faircloth and Simmons were armed. Faircloth and Simmons then took off with Edmundson still in the car.
The 17-year-old and his mom called 911 and gave the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office a good description of the vehicle. Deputies spotted the car and arrested Faircloth and Simmons.
Both men are charged with aggravated assault and kidnapping.
