Cops: “Suspect Armed And Dangerous

Bay Minette Police Captain Clarence Crook is looking for a man he says is armed and dangerous. Crook says if he can catch him, he'll charge 20-year Chaney Thomas with aggravated assault.

"I'm assuming he still has a weapon," says Crook. "I consider him very dangerous, we want to get him off the streets as soon as possible."

Investigators believe Thomas shot Lasay Mason in the stomach outside a Bay Minette nightclub early Sunday morning. Mason was airlifted to U-S-A Medical Center and is listed in stable condition. People living near the shooting scene are concerned about the shooting.

"The bullet could have hit anybody," says Yolanda Evans. "I don't know how the shooting went but it was real senseless and scary."

Detectives have recovered Thomas' car but say Thomas is still on the run tonight. Call the Bay Minette Police Department if you can help investigators solve the crime.
