The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two Destin men they say robbed the Fill-Ups Food Store on Harbor Boulevard.
According to the Sheriff's Office, 38-year-old Ronald Virtz walked into the convenience store around 4:30 Monday morning and tried to sell his necklace to the clerk. A few minutes later, Virtz walked out of the store and gave a “thumbs up” sign to 23-year-old Carcellous King which investigators say was a sign that there were no customers in the store.
King then walked in, wearing a black hoodie, and demanded money from the clerk at gunpoint. Thirty minutes after the robbery, King met up with Virtz and gave him $100 for helping him.
Deputies say King and Virtz are neighbors. They live in the same apartment complex. Now they're neighbors at the Okaloosa County Jail.
King is charged with armed robbery. Virtz is charged with principle to armed robbery.
