Senator Blasts Tanker Decision

U.S. Senator blasts Air Force for their decision to buy tankers from Northrop Grumman & EADS instead of Boeing.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Washington U.S. Senator Patty Murray has
ripped into Air Force officials for their decision to buy air
tankers based on a plane from Airbus instead of Boeing.
In today's speech on the Senate floor, Murray said the $35
billion decision for 179 planes was "a key piece of our national
and economic security."
The Air Force announced last week the contract was going to the
European parent company of Airbus, EADS, in a joint venture with
Northrop Grumman. The Airbus planes will be modified into refueling
planes at a new factory in Mobile.
