BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - An Amber Alert issued for a baby-sitter
and a 1-year-old child has been canceled. Police say both have been
found unharmed.
The 1-year-old missing since Thursday night has been found
unharmed in Bessemer, and Antoinetta Smith, the 16-year-old
baby-sitter accused of taking Treshon Williams, is in police
custody.
It was not immediately unknown if Smith has been charged.
Police say she was not with the child and was arrested by
Birmingham police shortly after the child was found just before 11
p.m. Saturday.
Bessemer police Sgt. Ronnie Allen says the child was taken to
Children's Hospital but appears to be OK.
An Amber Alert was issued after Smith, who was baby-sitting
Williams, left with the child Thursday night in a 1997 maroon Ford
Crown Victoria.
