The Baldwin County Health Department says a sentinel chicken has tested positive for Eastern Equine Encephalitis or EEE.
The chicken was in Orange Beach.
Health workers monitor mosquito borne viruses by using the chickens. The chickens are immune to the diseases.
EEE can be transmitted to humans and horses by mosquitoes, but horses have vaccines against the virus.
Right now, there's no vaccine for humans.
The Baldwin County Health Department says there have been no mosquito borne viruses detected in humans in Baldwin County.
