ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) - A Marine serving in Iraq got to see
his newborn daughter at a St. Petersburg hospital thanks to a
real-time satellite video link.
With his laptop computer in Iraq, Lance Cpl. Greg Entrekin spent
time with his wife and daughter Tuesday morning. Erin Entrekin
delivered the girl, named Aislyn, 17 hours earlier.
The 20-year-old Marine reservist, who's been in Iraq since
February, said he would "give anything in the world to hold her."
The satellite link was provided by the Freedom Calls Foundation.
The nonprofit group provides about 2,000 video conferences a month
for military people serving overseas, including about 250 birth
conferences.
