A North Carolina couple is facing first-degree murder and felony child abuse charges after some harsh punishment left their 13-year-old son dead.
The Edgecombe County Sherriff's Office says that Brice McMillan tied his son to a tree on Tuesday night because he had been "disobedient."
He released him Wednesday morning, but employed the same punishment technique on Wednesday night. His stepmother, Sandra McMillan went to release the boy on Thursday morning, but he was unresponsive. The couple's other two children are now in state custody.
