Emergency Landing

»  Comments | Post a Comment

A pilot with two passengers on board a private aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing at North Mobile County Airport off Dead Lake Marina Road in Creola shortly before 10:00 a.m. Sunday. Airport officials say the family is from Texas, and was forced down by engine trouble.
The landing tore the engine away from the airframe of the Beechcraft series 35 aircraft, and the plane came to rest near the end of the runway.
Paramedics who treated the three at the scene, before they were taken to USA Medical Center for evaluation, indicated that the injuries were not life threatening. The name of the pilot and the passengers have not been released.
The manager of the field, whose wife was there when the aircraft landed, said "the pilot did a good job of putting it down."
