Robert Fernandez began his attack on Fairhope police officers early Friday morning. The frightening assaults are all caught on police dash cam video.

"He was using his truck as a deadly weapon," says Fairhope Police Sgt. Craig Sawyer.

Fernandez apparently went on a rampage, hitting several parked cars near downtown Fairhope and then slammed into an apartment building. Officers responding to the scene immediately became targets. Fernandez hit two police cruisers at least three times before he was subdued with a taser gun taken into custody.

"I'm proud of our officers," says Sawyer. "The adrenaline was high, the fear was high but they used good judgment and the absolute minimal amount of force necessary."

Fernandez is in the Baldwin County Corrections Center charged with two counts of felony assault, two counts of reckless endangerment and multiple counts of criminal mischief.
