MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Former HealthSouth CEO Richard Scrushy
is asking a federal appeals court to overturn his conviction in a
government corruption case.
Scrushy was to file by Tuesday briefs supporting his appeal.
Scrushy and former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman were convicted in
2006 of bribery and other charges. Siegelman filed briefs in
support of his appeal last month.
Scrushy was sentenced to almost seven years in prison and is
being held in a federal prison in Beaumont, Texas. Siegelman served
nine months in a Louisiana federal prison before being released in
March on an appeal bond.
