MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The Legislature ended its special
session on Saturday, but the lawmakers may not be gone from
Montgomery for long.
Governor Bob Riley sent a letter to legislators Friday asking
what dates they would prefer for another special session that he
may schedule before the state's new fiscal year begins October 1st.
Riley did not say what topics he might propose for the special
session. But some legislators say they expect to address economic
incentive legislation to help Alabama recruit new industries. They
say it also may involve legislation designed to help Jefferson
County address problems with its bond debt.
