Shocking new information in the gruesome murder of a woman police say was killed by her husband and stuffed in a freezer.
News Five obtained court documents claiming Anthony Hopkins asked one of his children to help hide their mother's body.
According to the search warrant, Anthony Hopkins raped one of his eight children for at least eight years. In the warrant, one of Hopkins' daughters says on or around November 4, 2004, her mother, Arletha Hopkins, caught her dad sexually abusing her in a bathroom at their home. The daughter says that lead to an argument, and the next morning her father asked her to help hide her mom's body in a freezer.
Monday night, Mobile police searched the Hopkins' home at 258 Rylands Street and confirmed a female body was found in a chest freezer in a utility room. While a positive identification will not be made for several days, police believe it is Arletha Hopkins' body.
Hopkins' children are now in the custody of the Department of Human Resources. Anthony Hopkins is charged with murder, rape, incest and sodomy.
