The Sheriff's Office says a Lillian man arrested early Tuesday morning may be responsible for numerous copper thefts in Baldwin County.
A deputy on routine patrol was checking the Riviera Utilities Substation on Perdido Street around 2:00 a.m. He noticed someone had climbed into the transfer area and called for back up. The deputy then ordered the suspect to climb down.
21-year-old Justin Webber is accused of trying to steal copper wire from the Substation. During a search of his car, deputies found evidence that could link Webber to many other copper thefts in Baldwin County.
Webber is charged with theft of property. He will be in court Wednesday for a bond hearing.
