A Jackson police officer is fighting for his life after being shot in the head and stomach.

Authorities say a Jackson police officer
is fighting for his life after being shot in the head and stomach.
Officials said Dwayne Collier was in critical condition Monday
at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Jackson Mayor Frank Melton said doctors are optimistic that
Collier will recover.
Collier, a six-year veteran of the Jackson Police Department,
was shot around 11 a.m. during a police pursuit following an armed
robbery at Mississippi Title Loan.
Police said the men stole the officer's patrol car after he was
shot.
The suspects are in custody and being questioned.
