The Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office has arrested a teenage mother for faking her infant daughter's abduction.
On Thursday, 18-year-old Kimberly Hart told deputies that someone took her 5-month-old girl from the backseat of her car. A few hours later, deputies found the baby alone at a vacant house.
According to deputies, Hart confessed to abandoning her child in order to get attention from the baby's father. Hart said she believed the father would help her look for the child.
Hart is charged with felony child neglect and making a false report. She was released after posting a $26,000 bond.
