We now know that 2-year old Hannah is still the missing child. The body of her 1-year old sister Lindsey was discovered on Tuesday.
Mobile County's Medical Examiner says matching up footprints is what gave them the positive ID.
For days, Dr. Karen Kelly says her office was working off faxed and email copies of the prints. They just weren't clear enough.
Hannah's original hospital footprint arrived late this afternoon but it didn't match the up. By process of elimination, they determined that Lindsey was the tiny body discovered just across the stateline in Mississippi.
Dr. Karen Kelly says this is one case that she has taken home with her. "This one has bothered all of us and it's very emotional for everyone in the office as well as everyone in the community. I think this is one that haunts you for a long time because it's so senseless."
Pathologists couldn't use DNA to get a positive ID because the sisters shared hair brushes and even toothbrushes.
