After almost two weeks of praying and hoping to recover the bodies of Hannah, Lindsey, Ryan and Danny, Reverend Phi Vo with the Vietnamese Baptist Church says the family is coming closer to laying to rest three of the Bayou La Batre children that have been found.
Vo says the family has hesitated since the fourth body hasn't been recovered. The funeral idea alone has been a concern for them.
"There was a little conflict in the family because some of them are buddhism like the stepfather but the mother herself is a christian right here in this community center," Said Vo.
Since then, Vo says they've decided to hold a service at the Bayou La Batre Community Center, a place where the mother once brought her children for an Easter Sunday service.
The family is extending an invitation to the public who have shared their prayers and support. Many of whom Vo plans on preparing to accomodate. While he's expecting over eight-hundred to attend, he says all are welcome.
"I've seen how the people come with their hearts, their respect, their love for the family. Even with a thousand crowd we'll handle it well,"Said Vo.
The reverend says the family is looking at this Sunday or Monday afternoon as a possibility.
The visitation and funeral will be open to the public.
Once those plans are finalized, we will let you know on News Five and here on our website.
