Search crews wrapped up their third full day of search for four small children, who investigators believe were thrown off the Dauphin Island Bridge by their father.
Searchers hit the water this morning with some extra equipment, most notably a new sonar.
Mobile County Sheriff Sam Cochran and MCSO Flotilla Captain Paul Stewart both said the sonar was very successful, though no bodies were recovered.
News Five talked to a senior marine scientist at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab about how currents and tides effect the search.
Dr. Monty Graham said based on the general tendencies of the Mobile Bay the bodies could be recovered not far from where they were thrown into the water.
Graham said the currents push back and forth, and with only one high and low tide in a 24 hour period, the accuracy of their predictions is high.
Search crews will resume their efforts at day light.
