PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - Officials say a small fire at Chevron's
largest U.S. refinery in Pascagoula was weather-related and was quickly brought under control.
There were no injuries.
Chevron spokesman Steve Renfroe blamed the fire on freezing
temperatures that dipped into the low 20s overnight, but said he
couldn't explain how cold weather would spark a blaze.
Renfroe says the fire is not expected to disrupt production at
the facility, which is one of the top 10 petroleum refineries in
the United States.
News 5 is on the scene. We will have a live report later today on News 5 at Noon.
