Man Accused of Hitting a 5-Year-Old Found Guilty

Joshua Smith has been charged with negligent vehicular homicide by a jury in a Mobile courtroom this afternoon. The jury found him not guilty of leaving the scene of an accident with injuries. Smith stood trial after being accused of hitting 5-year-old J'Lexus Lee. Lee was hit and killed by Smith's oncoming car at the intersection of Kennedy and Congress Streets last Mardi Gras. Toxicology reports showed Smith was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs that day.
