Kids In Home When Mom Shot

A Theodore mother is recovering after Mobile Police say her boyfriend shot her.

Cleven Neal turned himself into Mobile Metro Jail a few hours later and is charged with domestic violence.

The shooting happened about 1:30 Wednesday morning on Bowers Lane in Theodore.

Police say Neal shot Erica Lett several times in the chest and arm. She was taken by lifeflight to U-S-A Medical Center for treatment and is expected to be ok.

Mobile Police officer Eric Gallichant says Lett's three children were also in the house when the shooting happened. "They were in a separate room so they didn't actually see the shooting but they obviously would have been victims to some of the aftermath."

Neighbors say the family had only been living in the house about six month. Mobile Police say they've responded to a domestic call at the house before.
