PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - The Chevron Pascagoula Refinery has
resumed production in a crude oil unit damaged by fire last summer.
Chevron said in a statement that the company has completed
modifications to improve the unit's reliability and safety.
The Aug. 16 fire occurred at the refinery's No. 2 crude unit
where oil is processed into gasoline and jet and diesel fuel. The
blaze lasted several hours before burning itself out.
No injuries were reported and no environmental damage occurred,
according to Jackson County emergency officials and the Mississippi
Department of Environmental Quality.
An investigation into the case of the fire continues.
