WASHINGTON (AP) - For Barack Obama, it's his second endorsement
in as many days from a large labor organization.
He's won the backing today of the Service Employees
International Union, which has 1.9 million members.
The union's president says Obama has always done "everything he
could" when the union's members have asked for his help. And he
says "the excitement has been building and building" for Obama in
the months since union leaders met with several Democratic
candidates last fall.
The union, which is politically active, represents workers in
health care, building services and other industries.
Yesterday, Obama was endorsed by the United Food and Commercial
Workers.
