A 59-year-old woman is stabbed to death in front of children waiting for the school bus at Jessie and Main Streets in Trinity Gardens.
Witnesses tell News 5 they heard screaming and saw a man stab Bertha Phillips before getting into a car and speeding away. Phillips was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to a preliminary report by homicide detectives, the stabbing was the result of a domestic fight. However, they have not determined a motive at this point.
Police have detained a man for questioning. They plan to release more information this afternoon.
