A Blount High School students is out of the hospital this afternoon, just hours aftter they were stabbed by a classmate.
Mobile County Schools Spokesperson Nancy Pierce tells News 5 that a fight broke out on campus this morning. The fight was broken up. But around 11:15 a.m., a student walked up to a classmate in the courtyard and stabbed them above the neck.
Pierce would not say where the knife came from, but a parent who was at Blount when the stabbing occured told News 5 the knife was taken from the home ec classroom.
The victim was taken by life flight to USA Medical Center where they were treated and released.
Pierce would not release the names, ages or sex of the students involved.
