(AP) - Officials have released the name
of a Marine found slumped over his work station at the Marine Corps
Air Ground Combat Center at Twentynine Palms as Private Jeffrey W.
Slaten.
Officials say the 24-year-old from Lee, Alabama, was declared
dead Monday after being discovered by fellow Marines. The
circumstances surrounding Slaten's death are under investigation
and Marine officials say no further details are immediately
available.
Slaten was an electrical equipment repair specialist serving at
Twentynine Palms. He joined the Marine Corps on July 13th, 2005. He
served one tour in Iraq.
