Satsuma Mayor Ordered to Repay City $6,252

SATSUMA, Ala. (AP) - Satsuma Mayor Billy Bush has until March
4th to pay the city an estimated $6,252 for credit card expenses
and a missing vehicle that was seized in a drug bust.
An internal audit by the city council found that Bush owed more
than $3,250 in city credit card charges. Officials said he has also
been asked to return a missing 1998 Nissan Altima or pay an
estimated $3,000 for the value of the car.
Bush said the credit card expenses were for city business, but
he has agreed to pay the $3,250 because he can't remember all his
activities during the past seven years.
Bush believed other city employees made some of the charges and
said he doesn't know what happened to the car.
Mobile County District Attorney John Tyson Junior said he
started a criminal investigation last year into alleged financial
irregularities in Satsuma and has not yet concluded that probe.
