An Odessa, Texas man is in jail accused of killing his wife while performing an exorcism on her.

Ector County officials arrested Jan David Clark and charged with him with murder Friday.

The 60-year old suspect told deputies while attempting to remove a demon from Susan Kay Clark, he held her face down on their carpeted master bathroom floor - the demon then entered his body and caused him to kill his wife. Clark reported the death to a friend who called police.

Authorities found the woman's body Friday wrapped in a bed sheet with a cross and a sword on top of her body. They believe the 59-year old victim was killed late Thursday evening.

Ector County Justice of the Peace set bond at 300 thousand dollars. Clark remains in the Ector County Detention Center Sunday.

The victim's body was taken to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office in Fort Worth, Texas for an autopsy.
