The Roubiks say they almost didn’t have a Christmas until they got a helping hand.

Sandy Roubik often has her hands full. She and her husband are in their 60’s caring for their triplets named J.J., Mary and Teresa. All three are four-years-old and autistic. Sandy says they almost didn't have a Christmas, if not for some help from volunteers at the church on the Eastern Shore.

“Angels were coming and helping,” says parent Sandy Roubik. “I mean I just wanted to say thank-you to everybody so much.” Her husband John had gone in for emergency hernia surgery two weeks ago, the kids were all sick, and so was their sitter. That's when church volunteers stepped in with gifts of food, clothes, toys and even the decoration of their home.

“Mainly I'm amazed surprised, they're wonderful people all of them,” says John Roubik. “Makes me feel every warm inside, very happy, lots of times when you're in a desperate situation you don't realize there are people out there willing to help you out.” A church member says they were looking to help people within the church in addition to regular holiday outreach.
